The breakfast should ideally contain cereal-based foods such as pasta or bread, containing a high amount of Vitamin B or Folic acid. Certain fruits and legumes can also provide sufficient folic acid. A woman should eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, which are able to provide the necessary amounts of important minerals. Consumption of enough fish, eggs and little butter can effectively prevent a lack of Vitamin D in the nursing mother. As the mothers become too busy with their new-born babies, often they try to neglect their intermediate foods; therefore, healthy snacks such as boiled eggs, dried fruits, nuts, yogurt or cheese can be given to them to fill that gap in their meals.
The food-related habits that should be avoided by a nursing mother
