Six Week Body Makeover – It Worked Initially, Now to Keep the Weight Off!
The six-week body remodeling diet was developed by a guy named Micheal Thurmond. He was an obese teenager who struggled to maintain a healthy weight. He developed a unique weight loss program that requires drastic weight loss (up to 30 lbs!) with minimal exercise over a period of 6 weeks. If you are very overweight, you should make an appointment to see your Doctor to make sure it is safe to continue such drastic weight loss. I gained 40 pounds during my 3 pregnancies and felt miserable. It was like having heavy suitcases attached to my body. I visited my doctor and got the green light to start the program.
My plan was to lose weight quickly within six weeks when I stopped breastfeeding and then start a rigorous exercise plan when I was at a more comfortable weight to maintain my ideal weight. The great thing about the six week body makeover is that very little exercise is required, just 20 minutes twice a week. The exercises target your specific problem areas, for me my five bellies! and a wobbly bottom. When you’re very heavy, it’s hard to motivate yourself to do a lot of exercise.
The meal preparation was simple, but you have to cook with fresh ingredients from scratch, which was good for the whole family, no more take out or frozen meals. You should eat 6 small meals a day. My favorite recipes were baked fries with potato wedges rolled in a mixture of fluffy egg whites, paprika and pepper and an egg white omelette with spring onion. The diet allows no dairy, caffeine or sugar, no coffee was miserable to begin with, I did get used to it and felt better and slept like a baby. My kids continued to have milk and cheese and normal breakfast cereal, but I did cut sugar out of their diet because I don’t want my kids to be fat sugar junkies. I now don’t eat carbs in the evening and eat healthy 80% of the time.
I kept the weight off by using the six week body rebuild program to give me a kickstart and then ramping up the exercise and eating for my body type. I now exercise most days, 1 hour brisk walk (including hills) with my dog and 2 or 3 dance classes a week. I just started Zumba, the results and fat burning are amazing, I am currently 110 lbs. and wants to stay that way. I have a lot more energy and feel confident. Clothes shopping is much more satisfying.
