Staying Positive In Corona Times And V For Vaccine?
It seems incredible that only three months into the old world it still existed and was going on its way, except for a small area in China. Since then it has been a huge struggle to stay positive, closed. During this time, the world was able to learn precious little about the invisible invader. It is one of the most mysterious enemies that humanity has ever encountered. Nothing is known of its basic nature; because its virulence is so variable; why he chooses some countries with a vengeance and why he is deceptively kind to others. However, we just don’t know what their future course will be – even in the countries that seem to have thwarted their invasion. China, the origin of the attack, and now in apparent control after a 76-day blockade, fears a reprisal. Some experts also say that there is no guarantee that a cured person will develop immunity to reinfection. However, we must remain positive and live on hope.
The behavior of human men disappoints us greatly. Why can’t they understand that the lockdown is basically to save their lives by making them stay at home safe and to break the chain of infection outside? Why can’t they understand that the blockade should be a temporary measure just to buy time and prepare for the worst, if it comes? But no! They want all their lost benefits and pleasures in a hurry; they want to join their friends for the daily chat: they want their favorite dishes, sweets, cakes at any cost. They also attack doctors, nurses and law enforcement authorities who are out there at great risk just to protect their lives. Except, perhaps, for the immense human tragedy involving millions of migrant workers stranded in India, most of these human beings are quite prosperous: they have houses, jobs, money and opportunities to work from home or engage in other creative activities. But no! They continue to buy the essentials, much more than the needs of the family, just for the chance to go out again and again. In India, there have been widespread violations of social distancing and other norms in different parts of different states. The killer virus could be just around the corner to capitalize on such human follies. But we must stay positive and encourage as many others as possible to stay positive. Quality family time is an asset to be reckoned with for all of us busy bees.
The unpredictability of the virus causes another obstacle: it does not allow our mind to release our obsession with it and focus on other productive things. We continue to hear news and updates, what the experts say and follow their impact on the world. However, we should always try our best to entertain our minds and stay positive. Daily exercises and meditation sessions are very necessary for this since the morning or evening is also prohibited.
The economic damage COVID-19 has already enacted and the imminent threat of utter ruin is another major concern that has plagued our minds continuously. Numerous forecasts are made about negative growth rates in most countries of the world. Well, negative taxes can be reversed once the recovery process begins. But, recovery can only be done when the killer virus leaves us or is completely controlled. It has been said that from September 2020 the Coronavirus will disappear while it is also said that during the winter it can return, more virulent. Scary thoughts should not be allowed to generate negativity in us; we must stay positive and hope for the best.
The economic reason is the driving force to abandon the blocks at a certain point of time, the earlier always the better. However, an exit cannot be directed; it should be performed in a gradual manner. India has started this process of reducing the curbs in safe and safer areas. And here, we feel confused and disgusted to see how our fellow humans react to this. Like the foam exploding from an uncapped bottle of Champaign, they rush out of houses in an ecstatic frenzy to break norms everywhere. More nightmarish thoughts creep in. This is only a partial workout of the curbs with the block still in effect. What happens after a full exit? After living the horrors, Italy considers a full exit; if they succeed thank heaven for that. For an overpopulated country like India, how will governments ensure social distancing: in the sprawling slums where a single toilet is shared by hundreds and 8-10 people live in cramped 10/10 ft houses; in the overcrowded local trains, metro trains and buses, still unable to meet the growing crowds in most cities; in congested offices; in cinema halls, shopping centers, hotels-bars; in markets and hot favorite public places? If you believe, it could be necessary to observe the safeguards for at least 6 months under normal conditions or until the virus becomes dormant whichever is earlier. Now, if business establishments are asked to ensure they sit on the strict rules of social distancing, how will they continue to be viable in business? Developed countries do not have many such limitations, but the habits and compulsions of people’s lifestyles can also compromise the observance of safeguards.
We, the people, must understand that only we can make this battle against Coronavirus successful; the authorities can guide us only for that common purpose. The onus is on us, and so we must strive, make maximum efforts and move forward with pain, but positively. And, there is the final key to success for all of us: a COVID-19 vaccine. US President Trump has said that the vaccine will be available by the end of this year. If we do not feel good about going to Trump, considering all his bombastic or bizarre words or contradictions and his latest electoral desperation, we can easily console ourselves with the many projects that are underway around the world for which world leaders have showed solidarity. raising a fund of more than $8 billion, fully supported by the World Health Organization. A few of them, those in the United Kingdom, Germany and India, have promised a vaccine ready for the market by September 2020. Therefore, time is still with us, and hope has not run out. It is one more reason to stay positive and breathe an air of optimism that is equally contagious around us.
