Go Fast – Slow Down
We encourage you to work smart, not hard. You may think that less time to work on a project is dangerous. This is the mindset of the baby boomer who belongs to an older generation. Less time better spent is a sure guarantee of better creativity. And in a cluttered world, creativity is the competitive edge you need.
Less time to work on a project does not mean the absence of investment. In reality it means spending more time to master the art, more time to contemplate the action, and then cut to the hunt on the project.
Do it once, do it right.
In business you will meet many people whose way to success is fatigue. They tell me how tired they are and then have to leave to go to another meeting. But in that meeting there are people who are not tired. Customers who are relaxed, happy, not loaded with caffeine, who is on the backfoot in that meeting?
Take a turn – doing it right is an important leap to take hard.
Achieving the one-time strategy requires devoting significant time to contemplation before pen is put to paper. In spiritual language we say, “the soul speaks in images” – this means that in your “mind’s eye” the process, the production and the result must be a sort of slide show before you act.
See in my mind, before I have my back.
For me, I think this is a very important part of my life. In any area of life, I know that if I can’t see it, then it won’t happen. Sometimes I can’t see it, but I want to. But then I can’t act because I know that if my soul doesn’t project, every action is just robotic that I’ll have to do it twice.
The clearer the picture, the deeper the conviction
Sometimes the images you will have in your mind’s eye will be so clear that you will be confused between reality and reality. You’ll think you’re going by boat, but you’re actually walking the dog in the snow. Be careful where you do this mind-bending.
Pictures come to you, not from you
Inspiration is the art of awakening the mind’s eye. I teach inspiration. There are three layers for inspiration.
In – means it comes alive in you
Spirit – means that it is not in material form
Ion – comes from outside of you
The soul speaks in pictures. This is true. But any picture you conjure up in your head is not a real picture in this sense. Pictures come to you, not from you. This means that the mind’s eye sees things that you do not – thus, the thinker cannot project the thought into a picture and expect this to be a real inspiration from the mind’s eye.
You have to become a receiver. Not a projector
Inspirations come to you, not from you. This is why monks, artists and creatives do all kinds of strange rituals. They softened his mind for the receptions. You are allowed to request a certain reception. For example, you may need an idea for a new marketing campaign. Thus, you can sit or walk with the intention of generating a new idea for a marketing campaign. But that’s it. The idea, (must be a form of print) must come to you.
Activities that inspire mental pictures
There are certain activities that will inspire mind pictures. A painter might paint with no real intention of finishing the art, they are just practicing. The composer could play the old music just lost in the simplicity of the familiar territory. The filmmaker could make love. The business tycoon could swim.
The key is to slow down
Pictures of the mind cannot enter a working mind. There are many parts of your brain, the highest is centered in the top of your skull, there is also a place where you can put your finger and feel the dent. This place is the signal receiver. It still receives inspiration, but the other 6 levels of the brain make more noise, so it is difficult to have reception when there is too much static.
Thought, like learning, worry, emotion, stimulation, fatigue blocks the mind’s image.
In my workshops I do exercises to help people calm their minds. I suggest to them that when their mind is calm, they will have an inspiration. They always suggest that if something comes, during this exercise, these people write, because nothing can come, if we try to remember the last one. (lower brain). There are always one or two people who complain, “Nothing came” – and that’s really funny because they can’t break the habit of reaching to catch things, they can’t sit back and let the ball come to them.
Leave the image of the mind in your hand.
The pictures of the mind cannot come to a mind that tries. To catch a ball that is thrown to you, your job is to keep your hand in the general direction of the ball and allow the ball to “find the house” – or in a better language, land in your hand. The universe is full of vibration – again in spiritual language, this is called “Akash” or “Akashic Record” – in ancient times it was called the great library of all knowledge. The Thinker’s job was to learn how to “shut down” long enough to press the “AKASH”
It is a free resource – available to anyone who is ready
Einstein, Plato, Pythagoras, Shakespeare, Newton, Galileo, Picasso, Mirò, Joseph Campbell, Gandhi and anyone who left something immortal, touching the Akash. Everyone recognized that something happened to them and this is what caused their genius.
Stupid scientists are looking for something in a human brain to explain genius, but they have been in a prison of material reality. Nothing worth thinking about ever came from us, it just comes to us.
All you have to do is “slow down”
Monks call for enlightenment. Artists call it “the drug”. Composers call it “the other voice” mathematicians call it “a moment of inspiration” – the brand is different, but we must keep it simple. Mind pictures are natural, you always have them. The only thing you have to do is “slow down” – This does not mean watching TV. No, this is called acceleration. Slowing down is doing something you love, for love.
For love
Acting without desire means running for the love of running. To walk for the love of walking. Painting for the love of painting. To sing for the love of singing. To dance for the love of dancing. A boy can play for love, can you? Without competition with yourself, with others without purpose. I think we have lost this art in life. I work all over the world and the only person I ever met who lived for love, was Sri K Patthabi Jois. My yoga teacher in India. He started yoga at the age of 10, practiced for 50 plus years, had only 10 students in his yoga school for all those years (he worked full time as a professor at the University to pay the bills) – the only reason he taught and practiced yoga, even at the age of 90 with 500 students paying $350 for classes in New York, was because his “mind’s eye” saw it , so he followed.
Hard work is not good management
Try to catch the ball before it runs for a touch. Try to see the future before setting goals to cause it. Hard work is bad management. This, the image of the mind’s eye means to do it once, right. It means waiting for the ball to come to you. Trust is necessary, because sometimes the ball is not thrown. Keep your intention. Spend time learning to calm the lower parts of your mind, and find activities that allow space to hear what comes to the higher realms, the eye of your mind.
A story
When I was 5 years old, I stood in front of my class at school, proud of having done my homework, and read from my reader’s book to the class. I was there, happy, happy, that for the first time in my life, a picture of the mind came true. Even in my dreams after my mother died, I saw her on a stage. Now, here I was on stage for the first time. But, alas, my trousers were home-made, and not sown. The seam was drifting, my small penis shared with the audience. Humiliated I sat down. It took me 30 years before I ever got back in front of a crowd. But all this time, this picture was repeated over and over again. And now, I get paid to do it. (less exposure)
Another story
When I was 18, I saw a woman. 6 months later I met him, he was hitchhiking, he was driving. One of my friends caught her, while I was driving, they kissed. I found it hard to think of any other girl but her. 8 months later, I was invited to a party, and there she was. We ran away a week later, moved in, had children, and lived a happy life. But it’s over. One day when I contemplated the future, I was not in it. I couldn’t see her. Unbeknownst to me, the relationship was over. 3 years later we separated. Did I create the picture of the future, or did I read it?
Last story.
More than 10 years ago my son came to my workshop. During this program, we all did “mind’s eye” exercises. He joined at the ripe old age of 15 and wrote his own press. He would have sailed the world, to the most exotic places, inaccessible from land, showing people the great beauty of the world, the boat would be 120 ft long, he would race in the America’s Cup. This vision was so clear, when he spoke of it, every body saw it even in his mind. Only 5 years later, everything he saw, manifests itself. What he told me next was profound.
Seeing the picture of the future, the only thing that changed in him, was now that he knew what to say no. He was offered all kinds of sailing jobs, he turned them down because none of them would lead to this. I knew what he was saying.
Mind’s Eye
There are people who have mastered the art of touching the great Akash. They see the future. This skill is yours if you want it. Learning to tap the Akash means learning to slow down to speed up. Learn what not to say. Learn to get answers from outside yourself. These answers do not come from a God. They come from a library, a library that is free for all humanity, without conditions, without expectations of good or dignity. Everyone, the man, the woman, the child, the good, the bad, of all religious persuasion can, if he chooses, access the Akash, and therefore see the answers before hearing.
